The Spanish National Association of Prepared Concrete Manufacturers (ANEFHOP) has appointed Carlos Raich Cabarrocas, current CEO of PROMSA, as the new president of the association for a period of two years.
This designation took place at the Board of Directors held on October 19 at the CEOE headquarters in Madrid.
"The sector is facing new challenges that we have to face, so raising our voice and showing the importance of #concrete in the Spanish economy is key to our development", declared Carlos Raich.
Carlos Raich, who replaces Albert Gómez in the position, where he has expressed his willingness to continue jointly facing the challenges facing the sector, now in recovery after the crisis generated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Among the challenges it faces is the implementation and compliance with Royal Decree 163/2019 by all concrete plants to bring it closer to European standards, as well as greater collaboration with national and regional Administrations to support the recognition of certificates. He also stressed the importance of the recent Structural Code, the importance of sustainability and the reduction of CO2 levels in all production and delivery processes, and the fight against unfair competition in the sector.
Carlos Raich expressed that “being able to be president of an association with the trajectory, commitment and dedication of ANEFHOP is a source of pride. The sector is facing new challenges that we have to face, so raising our voice and showing the importance of concrete in the Spanish economy is key to our development. Now more than ever, showing unity of action and projection is essential for the association”.
Carlos Raich had previously been president of the Management Committee of ANEFHOP in Catalonia, as well as of the Industry Sustainability Committee, having participated in important initiatives of the association such as the Hormigón Expert seal.
